作为中国神话体系的源头,失传已久的《山海图》一直被历代文人墨客探索与阐释。在深受工业和科技影响的当代社会结构中,去探索古老的图腾文明、神性文化和奇妙传说,是充满着幻想主义意味的。许英辉在长期的研究与创作中,将《山海经》、三星堆遗迹、民俗文化等元素圆融贯通,于当下提供了一种“山海经宇宙”的文化思考维度,它传承着一种古老且浪漫的想象逻辑——原始、瑰异、神话、曼妙甚至感性,迥然于自然科学或考古研究的理性逻辑。
《山海经》能够作为文化IP(Intellectual Property)的核心,是其悠远、完整的东方神秘感背后,所承载的古老想象方式。一种文明的传承与发扬,不应该止于工艺技法与视觉审美的层面,不断延续的想象能力与创造性思维同样重要。在一个文化流失严重,需要精神高地的时代,我们希望籍由《山海图纪》聚焦到《山海经》在人文语境中的当代意义,以充满东方神韵的精神回流,重新树立本源文化的自信,以山海之名,传承、传播其更为大众所接受的想象趣味。
As the source of the Chinese mythological system, the long-lost “Shan Hai Tu” (Images of Mountains and Seas) has been discovered interpreted by literati and scholars throughout the centuries. To explore the ancient totemic civilization, divine culture, and unknown legends in a contemporary social structure abundantly influenced by industry and technology possesses a sense of fantasia. Amongst Xu Yinghui’s long-term research and production, he managed to integrate “Shan Hai Jing” (as known as “The Classis of Mountains and Seas”), the relics of San Xing Dui Ruins, and folk culture. Currently, they depict a culturally ideological dimension of the "Shan Hai Jing Universe " and inherit an afar, romantic, and imaginative logic. It appears primitive, magnificent, mythical, lithesome, and even sensual, yet utterly distant from a rational logic to natural science and archaeological study.
Owing to an ancient way of imagination standing behind the evergreen, complete, and oriental sense of mystery, the core of “Shan Hai Jing” has allowed it to be a long admired cultural IP (Intellectual Property). The inheritance and promotion of civilization ought not to be terminated at the level of craft techniques and visual aesthetics. Likewise, serving as contributing forces, the relentless imagination and creative thinking rather matter. Simultaneously, amid an era where severe cultural loss happens and desperate urge for spiritual heights emerges; from "Shanhai Classic” to “Shan Hai Jing”, it is our faithful initiative to shed lights on the concentration of the contemporary significance of “Shan Hai Jing” in the humanistic ambiance. With a backward influx of oriental charm on the spiritual dimension, the re-establishment of the self-confidence of indigenous culture shall be consolidated. Concurrently, in the name of Shanhai, the inheritance and spread of the more widely accepted imaginative pleasure shall be sparked.
